چکیده

BackgroundChronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is one of the most common chronic disorders limited therapeutic options. However, pathogenesis CRSwNP remains poorly understood.ObjectiveWe sought to determine role abnormalities in epithelial ion transport primary cultures and patients CRSwNP.MethodsWe studied transcript levels Cl? channels cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator protein 16A (TMEM16A) human healthy controls. Furthermore, we determined expression proinflammatory cytokines that have been implicated regulation (IL-1?, INF-?, TNF-?, IL-13) effects key TH2 signaling molecule IL-13 control cultures. Finally, measured vivo potential difference compare controls.ResultsBioelectric studies demonstrated Ca2+-activated secretion was reduced versus Transcript channel TMEM16A were increased Stimulation further restored Nasal measurements controls.ConclusionsThis study demonstrates TMEM16A-mediated epithelia CRSwNP. Our data suggest may be serve as a novel target Chronic understood. We Bioelectric This

TMEM16A-Mediated Mucin Secretion in IL-13-Induced Nasal Epithelial Cells From Chronic Rhinosinusitis Patients

PURPOSE Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), a mainly Th2 cytokine-mediated disease, often involves mucus secretion. Recent evidence suggests that transmembrane protein 16A (TMEM16A), a calcium-activated Cl- channel (CaCC), can regulate mucus secretion from airway epithelium by transepithelial electrolyte transport and hydration. However, the role of TMEM16A in mucin production/se...

Cutaneous reactivity pattern and nasal smear cytology in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps; is it associated with the course of the disease?

Background and Objectives: To determine the association of hyper-reactivity to environmental allergens and mucosal secretion cytology with the course of disease in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted at Tehran Clinic of Asthma and Allergy in 2016. Adult patients who earned the definite diagnosis of CRSwNP and were free o...

Histopathological classification of refractory chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.

OBJECTIVE To delineate the histopathological characteristics of nasal mucosa in refractory chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) in order to demonstrate subtypes of nasal polyps and their potential relation with lower airway comorbidity. STUDY DESIGN Clinical- and pathological-based cross-sectional study Methods: Nasal polyp specimens were prospectively collected from patients wit...

Precision Medicine in Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps

PURPOSE OF REVIEW Chronic rhinosinusitis is a disease with high prevalence, significant impact on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and it is associated with substantial healthcare and productivity costs. We face an urgent need to improve the level of disease control and achieve higher patient satisfaction and disease prevention. Precision medicine is increasingly recognized as the way for...

Symptoms in chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyps.

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS In this study we analyzed differences in symptoms scored between chronic rhinosinusitis patients with (CRSwNP) and without nasal polyps (CRSsNP). According to the European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps, CRSwNP and CRSsNP diagnoses are defined by clinical criteria supported with endoscopy. We wanted to know if it is possible to make an accurate distincti...
